FretMapper (“we”, “us”, “the app”) helps guitarists practice scales and licks. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
 

Who we are & contact

Data we collect

Account & identity (when you sign in)

  • Email address (may be Apple private relay), display name, profile photo, provider ID (Apple/Google).

 

Practice & preferences

  • Lick progress, BPM history, sessions count, favorites, completed items, practice dates.

  • App settings (e.g., dark mode, notifications, language).
     

Device & permissions

  • Locale/language (for translations).

  • Push notification token (only if you enable reminders).
     

Support

  • Messages you send us (email/support form) and related metadata.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, or your advertising identifier. We do not run third-party ads and do not sell your data.
 

How we use data

  • Provide core features: sign-in, sync, favorites, stats, reminders.

  • Improve reliability and support users.

  • (Optional) Diagnostics/crash logs if enabled in the future.

  • To provide the service you request (contract).

  • With your consent (e.g., notifications).

  • Legitimate interests (quality, security).
     

Sharing & processors

We use trusted providers to run the app:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, storage of practice data.

  • Apple / Google Sign-In: Account authentication.

  • Expo: Push notifications delivery (when enabled).
    These processors handle data on our behalf and do not sell it.
     

Data location & transfers

Data may be stored or processed in your region and/or internationally (e.g., Canada, U.S., EU). We use reputable providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
 

Retention

  • Account & practice data: kept while your account is active.

  • You can Delete Cloud Data or Delete Account at any time in Profile → Delete.

  • If your account is inactive, we may delete data after 24 months.
     

Your choices & rights

  • Notifications: enable/disable in Profile or device settings.

  • Access/Export/Deletion: use in-app delete options or email support@fretmapper.app.

  • No tracking: we don’t track you across apps/websites and we don’t use IDFA.
     

Children

FretMapper is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided data, contact us to remove it.


Security

We use industry practices (transport encryption, access controls). No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
 

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. Significant changes will be communicated in-app or on this page.
